In Character Information

Character Name: Loki Laufeyson
Canon: Marvel Comics
Timeline: Young Avengers (2013) #2 - Just before arriving to Asgardia
Character's Age: Ancient. Appears about 15.

Powers, Skills, Pets and Equipment:
Loki, upon meeting a magpie (his former self's "soul"), was told that he would not have the same level of powers he once had. While he was once extremely powerful in many categories, he has been restrained because of his reincarnation. However, this doesn't mean to say he has no powers. In fact, Loki is quite strong and clever.

As far as powers go:
He has pretty much been stripped of many of his powers (specifically, it seems sorcery), although his knowledge of it has not vanished.

It seems he still has superior speed. He is shown time and time again quickly running ahead of the people that he interacts with. He can run miles quickly, without losing breath, thanks to having a great amount of stamina to pair with his speed.

He also maintains his durability (he gets struck by lightning, and it barely shakes him up). The fact that he is highly durable plays hand in hand with the fact that he is able to regenerate quickly, as well. He is immortal, as well, and will not age as an average person, nor become ill with things the average person would.

Loki is inhumanly, physically strong for a person of his size. It is worth noting that he is short in stature - (under four and a half feet tall), and yet he weighs nearly 200 lbs. He is of slender build, but due to these factors - he is unexpectedly heavy and strong.

As far as skills go:
Loki is smart and silvertongued. He has proven time and time again that he is a quick learner (he learned a foreign, ancient language basically over night). He is of genius level intellect, and is not shy about using his wit to make sure he stands above others. Loki is proud of the fact that he is smarter than anyone.

He is very skilled at manipulating people and developing plans. And though his basic role has changed, he still uses this skill to his advantage, in order to make deals and 'help'.

And his equipment that comes with him is going to pretty much only be his clothing/outfit. He was traveling on his own in only his clothes when arrives.

Canon History: Link!

*Note: This history covers him from his reincarnation onward. As I am intending to play him in his child-sized reincarnation, it is the most relevant.

Personality:
Loki is the god of mischief. No, really. That would be the most apt way to describe him. He exists to cause trouble, and he loves to cause trouble. In the days before his death, he managed to be the cause for the fall of Asgard (twice!) - and he made deals with individuals, which would eventually come back to him. The deals involved him getting his name erased from Hela's book, which would keep him from being able to go to Hel after the death that he seemed to seek out.

Loki, though, was not without regret for his actions. When he saw that this destruction he sacrificed himself, and it helped everyone win.

Loki was brought back without memories, and seems to be fourteen at the time of his revival. When he comes back, he is plagued with dreams of what is likely things he had done in his past. He hates it. When Thor finally returns a portion of his memories to him, Loki starts to strive for redemption.

Unfortunately, being as he is Loki - redemption doesn't really work well for him. Loki is a perfect example of "the road to Hell is paved with good intentions". Time and time again he wants to start to do good, but he routinely screws it up.

When he first comes back, his uncle (the Serpent) starts to plague earth. Loki starts to work on making deals with others in order to: keep the earth from crashing and burning, keep Odin from destroying the Earth, and then give Thor the opportunity to save Thor. His good intentions to save the world - lead to him releasing great amounts of evil later on. None of those deals turned out well - in the end (created more bad than good) - but he did, genuinely have good intents. He cries to Thor that he had said that he had TRIED, but he FAILED. He wanted so badly to do the right thing, but his nature is so ingrained to not.

When I say deals - I mean it very loosely. Loki's deals are like a double-edged sword. For example: he made a deal with Surtur, in order to obtain a shadow of his sword and help defeat the Serpent - and yet he ends up dumping him into the location that Surtur did NOT request (later - this bites him back because Surtur wreaks havoc).

Loki does have some love in him, too. Although, the individuals that seem to have his love are few and far between.

When Thor dies, he does blame himself (even though he knew Thor's death saved everyone). Everyone forgot Thor (thanks to a ploy) - and he was the only one that was able to regain his memories of him. He fought hard to regain Thor's memories, and was one of the parties (the other being the Silver Surfer) involved in Thor's revival.

Loki does like the company of others, too. He has Ikol, Thori (a hel-hound), and Leah (Hela's handmaid) at his side, and he frequently takes them (well - not Thori) along when he's working on 'saving' people. He mourned the loss of Leah, he was upset when he discovered that Ikol was in his head, and he really seemed to like Thori, and is upset when he leaves him. This implies that he is capable of forming personal relationships with individuals who are not Thor. It takes time, and it takes work, and there's never really any trust.

But then, who trusts the god of mischief?

Loki is repentant, and is well aware that people do not trust him. He is working, constantly, to try and get people to like him a bit more. Chaos is drawn to him, and he learns quickly that the only way he can help anyone is to use the skills he has always had in order to help.

Loki is silver-tongued and an exceptional liar. People are frequently deceived by him, and he has absolutely no regret with lying to others. He is clever, too, and is very good at formulating plans. Throughout his canon (both before and after reincarnation) - he is constantly plotting, planning, and working to achieve the goal of the day. He is not the least bit trust-worthy, but likewise, he does not trust anyone.

He is very goal driven, and will make deals and trades in order to achieve his goals.

He is above genius intelligence, and he learns things quickly. He is able to luckily change his plans, and is able to quickly formulate a new one. Due to the fact that he IS ancient (thousands of years old possibly) he has a great amount of knowledge. Given, he has forgotten a lot about his previous life (and he seems to be fine with not knowing all of his transgressions), but he still knows about the world.

Loki definitely is not a shy individual. He is more than happy to talk to others, but because of the fact that he is Asgardian, he comes off as awkward and socially unaware at times (for example: "The pad of i" rather than iPad).

In more recent canon - the Young Avengers - Loki appears to have completely changed to the side of "good" (so to speak - he is often the villain, so this is quite the evolution). This would really be the finally step of him changing.

So overall - Loki is an intelligent, driven, reincarnated (so now young) god. He is clever, and maintains the silver tongue and wit of his previous life, but he is now repentant and working towards his redemption. He's not trust worthy, but he's come a long way from throwing someone in the line of fire to further his own plans. In fact, he has proven that he would rather help/be the good guy.

Why do you feel this character would be appropriate to the setting?
Given that he is only a teen in his reincarnation, this certainly applies. He may be mentally older in some respects, but he still maintains many characteristics of a child, and is looked at and treated as a child. Loki, though, is very self-sufficient. He is very capable of independent thought, and is quite self-sufficient. He does frequently seek counsel with others, but he is proud to say that every action is his own. He is appropriate because of the fact that he is clever and very capable. And while he is a child, his thought processes are definitely much like that of the former, older, version of himself.

Well, this would be [ puts his hand to his forehead in the shape of an 'L' ] lame with a capital "L". It's really not cool to interrupt someone when they're on an important mission. If this gets out of hand, some people could be in a lot of trouble.

So whatever you want, come forward, and tell me. If I need to speak to someone to make a deal to get out of here, tell me.

I just want out of this dump and to return to Midgard. Not that it's much less of a dump than this place, but I have a job.

I'm Loki Laufeyson, the god of Mischief and I request an opportunity to speak with someone in charge of this Anatole.

Third Person Sample:
Loki was rather unimpressed with the entire set up. He was not unaccustomed to waking up in strange places, and this would certainly fall into that category. He rarely slept soundly to begin with, so he found it odd that he didn't wake up to wherever he had woken up. It looked like Midgard (smelled like it too, really), but he certainly did not think it was. People of Midgard did not tend to think it wise to kidnap a god. He was not well liked, and there would be no way to make money by requesting ransom for his head. He was meant to be heading to Asgardia with Teddy and Billy, in order to resolve a problem (a trap, he notes) that Billy had fallen into.

He was more than relieved he didn't end up there, however, this was an unfamiliar place, and that could bring problems.

He stretches, standing up straight, and feeling much taller for a moment. He stuck out his lower lip and paced about the room, talking to himself. The first thing he had noticed about the space, upon pacing, was the complete quietness of it. Still, he was hoping that maybe someone would make a point to make themselves known to him. His abductor, whomever it was, had to know who he was and wouldn't leave him on his own for long.

"Let's see, who wants my head. Maybe I should make a list." It was far too long of a list, in his opinion. "Maybe it would be easier to list individuals who do not want to impale me," he said for himself only, of course. There was no one nearby to listen.

He took to seeing what he could find in the room. He found the money, and the device. It resembled Starktech to him, at least in enough ways for him to figure out how to turn it on and how to get it to work.

"Perhaps I can search in the google about this." Talking wasn't quite as enjoyable when there was no one to listen.

Anything else? ...Anything else? :D
